Anasazi’s highly trained and kindhearted TrailWalkers (direct-care staff) make our program work. These remarkable people commit to a lifestyle that allows them to be honest and positive examples for the YoungWalkers (program participants). They share in the experience (using identical gear, food, and clothing) and ensure safety, while continually honoring each YoungWalker’s greatness and individuality. This naturally builds trust and creates opportunities for openness, inspiration, learning, and ultimately healing. Nearly a third of Anasazi’s direct-care staff participated as YoungWalkers themselves.
